I perceive Cinema as more than a visual medium of storytelling. As a filmmaker, I get to assimilate most of my artistic abilities into this single medium of expression. For me, Cinema is more than medium of self expression, it is a power tool for mass communication. I strongly feel that Cinema should evolve beyond the screens and become a part of school curriculum, research projects, etc. to ensure its effective survival amidst the fast evolving audiences. During my research project on 100 years of Indian cinema, I have inferred upon on vital dimensions which will define the cinema of the future, address the demands of new cinema, air the public expectations from cinema and overall make Cinema more worthy a medium of art & communications. The inferences have been compiled in the form of 10 films under the title 'CinemaSutra'.
After having written, reviewed and directed several short films, I strongly feel this is the time for Cinema to be adaptive to the newer audiences, be more experimental and explore colloquial stories, cultures and people.

It is a movement with many firsts- a first public interest initiative that analyses and gives introspection about the impact of Indian Cinema on the society, people and the world in 100 years. The initiative is borne out of the intensive research and interactions done with historians, biographers, audiences, makers, actors and veterans to understand the impact and influence of the Cinema on the society. It is aimed at celebrating Cinema as a potent medium of expression rather than just a tool for sterile entertainment.
